The AI and ART Exhibition created by MindBugs in the city of Cluj-Napoca was for us a real success as we were able to deliver our message to the people in our city and to bring to their attention the fantastic world of holograms, art and virtual reality all exposing how misinformation works. We were very excited to be able to organize this exhibition and to interact and exchange ideas with people who have the same interests and ideas as us.
Our visitors were very excited to experience our exhibition's artistic and technological dimensions and to interact with holograms and VR scenes created by local artists. We interacted with all our visitors, as we believe that direct contact is beneficial for building a strong and durable relationship, making sure to explain the whole story and artistic process behind the exhibition. The most important point of our exhibition was direct contact with the visitors, where we explained our ideas and concepts and, at the same time, got their feedback.
We believe that our exhibition was different from others, as we wanted to do more than just expose our ideas, we wanted people to be able to directly talk with the artists and to create a relationship between them, where the visitors to be able to ask any type of questions to the artists and where the artists to get real feedback from the visitors, this being a win-win situation.
Our visitors were very happy with the idea that they have learned new things about artificial intelligence, as this is a very en-vogue subject these days. Stephen Hawking used to say that artificial intelligence is either the best or the worst thing to happen to humanity. We believe that with an open mind and with good intentions, artificial intelligence really may be the best thing that happened to humanity.
It is very important for us to feel that we are getting a lot of support from the local artistic and technological communities and with this exhibition, we consider that we took the first step to the creation of a durable product, thanks to our beautiful and supportive people community. As we got positive feedback from our visitors, we felt like we were validated by the Cluj-Napoca community and we truly believe that the way we are going on is adding value both to us and to our supporters.
By analyzing the feedback received from our visitors, we observed that they were happy with our exhibition, as most of them answered positively to our questions. First of all, they were excited to see that the exhibition’s main theme was misinformation. We did our best to show the effects of misinformation through virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
Most of our visitors said that their perception regarding misinformation and online fake news will be changed after visiting our exhibition and this fact made us feel proud of our work and our impact on society. We believe that raising awareness regarding fake news and misinformation is very important for the development of the young generation.
We asked our visitors if they will come to such an exhibition again, and the vast majority answered yes. This is a confirmation for us that our work is appreciated and it’s worth continuing in the same way to deliver our message. The most important lesson in our opinion is that, despite having a high price for the tickets, 7 euros for adults and 5 for children, people were excited, willing to pay and willing to come back. We truly believe that for the artist community of Cluj-Napoca this is good news: our city has a strong potential for artistic sustainability and there is a meaningful number of people that are willing to pay for art.
Some of our visitors showed their appreciation for our work, saying that they were impressed by the way we have combined the misinformation with art and showed interest in an even bigger exhibition with the same theme. They told us that they feel like being misinformed is much easier than actually doing your best to find the real information and that they believe that such initiatives have a positive role and help people understand the importance of being well-informed Some of our visitors showed their disappointment regarding the big amount of fake information in the online media, but they are confident in the power of people who are doing their best to combat the misinformation.
In conclusion, our visitors were fascinated to see the way we were able to integrate art with misinformation: paintings, holograms and virtual reality games. They showed a big interest in joining another exhibition as soon as possible and most of them encouraged us to keep doing this work, especially to raise awareness about online misinformation. For the artist community in Cluj-Napoca, we would like to highlight that there is a substantial number of people willing to appreciate contemporary art and support the artist community.
We want to say a big thank you to everyone who paid for a ticket for our exhibition, it means a lot to us and it may be a small gesture but it may represent a big step for the artistic community in Cluj-Napoca. Also, we would like to thank to our sponsors, Media Futures, without which none of this would have been possible.
